Data Engineer and Analytics Visualization Specialist

Role Description

Data Engineer and Analytics Visualization Specialist responsible for designing, developing, and implementing data visualizations to support business decision-making. The role works with cross-functional teams to identify and communicate insights using data from various sources.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design and develop interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Spotfire.

• Collaborate with business teams to gather requirements and understand their needs.

• Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights and communicate findings to the team for resolution.

• Develop and maintain data models, data pipelines, and data warehouses using Dataiku and the Starfish ingestion process.

• Update and maintain distribution lists that send emails to end users based on data captured in Spotfire reports.

• Conduct data quality assurance checks to ensure accuracy and consistency.

• Explain report details and the reasoning behind report design to end users.

• Learn and support other ETL or ingestion processes that provide data for Spotfire as business needs change.

• Learn and support new BI and dashboard tools, such as Palantir, as business needs change.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of data visualization tools such as:

  • TIBCO Spotfire

  • Tableau

  • Power BI

  • Other data visualization software

• Proficient in SQL.

• Experience with data modeling, data pipelines, and data warehousing.

• Experience with data analysis, data mining, and statistical analysis.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
