Member of Technical Staff, Data Engineering | US$280,000–US$450,000/year | Full-time remote opportunity with Micro1
Micro1 seeks a hands-on Staff-level engineer to build its data platform from the ground up and make trustworthy data available to teams and AI agents.
Responsibilities: design and implement a data warehouse, ingestion infrastructure, ETL/ELT pipelines and core data models; create documented, agent-ready datasets and interfaces; establish product event tracking and self-service analytics; automate development, validation, documentation and monitoring; and set standards for quality, observability, governance, reliability and scale while mentoring engineers.
Requirements: extensive production data-platform experience, including personally building a greenfield platform; strong SQL, Python and software engineering fundamentals; expertise in data warehouses, modeling, orchestration and distributed processing; familiarity with tools such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks, dbt, Airflow or Dagster; and practical knowledge of lineage, access controls and analytics infrastructure. Daily use of AI coding agents, sound architectural judgment and technical leadership are central to the role. Experience with semantic layers, data discovery and autonomous-agent data systems is useful.
Engagement and location: Full-time; remote.
Compensation: the current Micro1 application-page headline advertises US$280,000–US$450,000 per year in compensation. Its separate compensation notice states a national base-salary range of US$200,000–US$260,000 per year. These are separately labelled source figures. Employees are eligible for equity and may receive performance bonuses subject to company policies.
